Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 11 October 2026
RJL Painting wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or voice control. This statement sets out what we have actually done, where we know we fall short, and how to tell us if something gets in your way.
The standard we build to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard most commonly referenced in the United States for public-facing commercial websites.
What we have done
- Every image has meaningful alternative text. All 85 photographs in the project gallery describe what is actually in the picture — the surface, the job type and the setting — rather than carrying a filename or nothing at all.
- Keyboard navigation throughout. Every link, button, form field, filter and gallery lightbox can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator at every step.
- A skip link to jump straight past the navigation to the main content.
- Proper heading structure. One H1 per page, in a logical order, so a screen reader can navigate by headings.
- Labelled form fields. Every input in the estimate form has an associated label, and errors are announced rather than only shown in colour.
- Colour contrast meeting or exceeding the 4.5:1 ratio for body text against its background.
- Reduced-motion support. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and smooth scrolling are switched off.
- Responsive and zoomable. The site reflows to a single column on a phone and remains usable at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- Semantic landmarks — header, navigation, main and footer — so assistive technology can move between regions.
Where we know we fall short
- Some of the photographs in the gallery are collages combining several images. The alternative text describes the overall subject but cannot fully convey every panel.
- Older photographs taken on a phone vary in quality and a few are low contrast. We are replacing these as we re-shoot jobs.
- Third-party scripts we load for analytics and advertising are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
Tell us if something blocks you
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us. We will fix it, and in the meantime we will give you the information you were looking for directly. You will not be at a disadvantage because of a problem on our website.
Email rjlpainting45@gmail.com, or call or text (727) 385-8862. We aim to respond within two business days.
Our services
Accessibility is not only a website matter. If you need us to communicate in a particular way — a large-print estimate, a phone call rather than email, a specific point of contact, extra notice before we arrive — tell us at the estimate stage and we will work to it.
Review
This statement was prepared on 11 October 2026 following a review of the rebuilt website. We review it whenever the site changes substantially, and at least annually.
