A Family Painting Company in the Horse Capital of the World

RJL Painting & Farm Beautification Services is run by Bob and Joy out of Dunnellon, Florida. We answer our own phones, we walk our own estimates, and on most jobs one of us is on site.

The business grew out of a simple observation. Marion County has no shortage of painting companies — but very few of them are comfortable on a working farm, and almost none of them think about the horses. We watched crews leave a tarp flapping over a stall door and a compressor running next to the cross-ties, and it was obvious there was a gap.

So we built the company around the harder version of the job. Working around turnout and feed. Coatings that have flashed off before anyone comes back in. Cords routed along the wall instead of across the walkway. Every bucket, brush and strip of tape picked up before the horses come in, every single day. If you have ever had to explain to an owner why their gelding is lame, you understand why that matters more than anything about colour.

That same discipline is why our residential work looks the way it does. Floors properly covered rather than spot-covered. Hardware removed and bagged rather than painted around. Doors taken off and laid flat so they do not sag. Furniture back where it was before we leave. None of it is clever — it is just the job, done the way we would want it done in our own house.
